Helium Hope
Materials: paint, pencil, paint brushes, and pallet knife.
Year:2016 Class: Painting Helium Hope was a piece to represent self expression. I was going in and out of the hospital at the time. I was extremely stressed out so it was weighing me down. Since I'm small sometimes people compare me to a teddy bear. The balloon was suppose to represent friends and family that we're giving me support to keep me afloat. It was my hope during my hard times. I want my viewers to see more than just a teddy bear holding a balloon. I want them to see the story behind it. |
Bitter InspirationMaterials: paint, pencil, sharpie, paint brush, and pallet knife.
Year:2016 Class: Painting This piece shows a story between a guy and his attitude. The background is suppose to represent inspiration and ideas but because of the character's bitter attitude towards everything he isn't letting the creativity inside. I got inspiration for this idea because I had artist block mostly due to the fact I was being bitter and was in a terrible mood. I didn't want to create anything not because I didn't have any ideas it's because I was being unwilling to do anything. I hope in the future that I won't use my emotions as a way to push creativity away but instead embrace it. |
Life's TrailMaterials: Watercolor, tape, and watercolor paper.
Year: 2016 Class: Painting This piece, Life's Trail, is about people's goals and life dreams. Everyone starts at the bottom of the mountain, looking at the top where their main goals ends. Many people are looking at the top and forget about the trail and the steps that lead to their success. They see the people who are already at the top and compare themselves to them. "How can I ever be as good as them." "How can I ever do this?" A lot of people want to see immediate change but a lot of the time to get success you need to work hard and long. They get discourage because they don't think they will ever get to the top because those first few steps don't show the huge change they want to see. These people just quit before they even go anywhere. They don't climb the mountain because they feel it will take to long or because they see the people at the top and never think they will become as good as them. |
A Connection
Materials: paint, sharpie, pencil, gel medium, and pallet knife.
Year: 2016 Class: Painting In this piece I decide not to have any idea behind this painting. I just started painting and took it where it lead me. I made the background somewhat transparent so you can see all the layers of paint. The vivid transparent colors loos like the two inner parts' choices to get close to one another. I decided to call this "A Connection" because it looks like the two inner pieces are trying reach each other. |
